DAHOD:
GROUNDWORK FOR GREATNESS

The Story Begins

Why Dahod?

Dahod, a tribal heartland with a rich railway legacy, was chosen for its unmatched potential—150 acres of uninterrupted railway land, a skilled workforce, and proximity to key industrial hubs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisioned Dahod as more than a location; it’s a symbol of India’s belief in building from its roots, for the world.

Why 9000 HP?

India’s freight network demanded a new powerhouse—stronger than the 6000 HP, more practical than the 12000 HP. The 9000 HP locomotive is that answer—designed for higher loads, faster speeds, and global compatibility. Built in India, for the world, it stands as a testament to self-reliance, innovation, and the spirit of Make in India.

Together, Dahod and 9000 HP became a blueprint for India’s future: resilient, bold, and built by many hands.

But vision alone doesn’t build dreams. It was time to break ground, to transform soil into steel, and belief into action.

9000 HP

A Land Transformed: From Red Soil to Grey Steel

Vision drafted, foundation stone laid in April 2022 by PM Modi.

Land transformed with 4.45 lakh cu. mtrs of earth and 3,750 piles driven.

Steel frames, sheds, and systems erected—7,000 tonnes of steel lifted, utilities integrated.

Final locomotive assembled, tested, and commissioned—9000 HP rolls out, made in India.
